TIEZA

TIEZA is a globally recognized tourism development agency and a primary catalyst for inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth.

TIEZA, born from the enactment of Republic Act No. 9593, embodies the government's commitment to advancing tourism development in the Philippines. Since its establishment on May 12, 2009, it has diligently carried out its mandate, succeeding the Philippine Tourism Authority.

As the Department of Tourism's implementing arm, TIEZA plays a vital role in bolstering tourism infrastructure and fostering investments in tourism enterprise zones (TEZ) nationwide. Its multifaceted functions encompass infrastructure development, TEZ designation and supervision, asset management, and the administration of the Philippine Travel Tax.

Through its concerted efforts, TIEZA has been instrumental in bringing development to areas rich in cultural, historical, and natural heritage. Designing, regulating, and supervising TEZs attracts private stakeholders to participate in tourism development, thus stimulating job creation and economic growth within local communities.

Moreover, TIEZA's prudent management of travel tax collections fuels priority tourism projects that are in alignment with national development plans. Its operating properties, spanning Luzon to Mindanao, provide diverse services, from hotel management to specialized recreational activities.

In its pursuit of excellence, TIEZA has attained ISO 9001:2008 Management System Certification for its core processes, demonstrating a commitment to quality service delivery. With innovation and collaboration at its core, TIEZA continues to strive for continual improvement, ensuring the sustained growth and prosperity of the Philippine tourism industry.
