Aly Z. Ramji is a Director at Mediapix Ltd., a media house in East Africa, where he is the Managing Editor of “The Exchange”(www.theexchange.africa), a finance and investment publication focused on Africa. Other publications that fall under his management include PesaTu a financial inclusion paper, a sports publication known as Sportsleo (sportsleo.news) an African travel news site known as See Africa Today (www.seeafricatoday.com) and a travel platform known as SafariLeo.africa, providing safaris to tourists globally. Ramji is also a Director at SIWA Engineering & Trading an Engineering and Construction company focused on road stabilization and water management in East Africa. The company currently supports water resource improvements and road construction projects for governments in the East African Community region. He is associated with OCI Groups (www.ocigroups.com) a boutique Investment Bank / Corporate Finance House in Toronto, Canada, where he provides analysis on ethical investments in mining, infrastructure and alternative energies through an African lens. From 2009 to 2012, Ramji worked as a Subject Matter Expert to the United States Department of Army – Human Terrain program, providing relevant socio-cultural and economic knowledge training particularly designed for military staff decision-making processes to US Army commanders in Iraq. Other organizations Ramji has worked for include, UNESCO, UNDP, UN OIOS, and the African Union. He regularly provides services to the Communications Department of the Aga Khan Development Network, and previous clients of his include the American Arab Chamber of Commerce, the East African Community, the Central Bank of Tanzania, and the US Department of Commerce, to name a few. Ramji holds an MA in International Affairs (Syrcause University – Maxwell School) and MSc in Public Relations (Syracuse University – Newhouse School), Executive Masters in Media Leadership & Innovation (Aga Khan Univ.) BA in Economics, Finance (University of Waterloo, Canada), and has undergone leadership courses at the Harvard Kennedy School.
