Ms. Noorbaan Fahmy is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Legal Counsel of Maldives Stock Exchange Company Pvt. Ltd (MSE) and Maldives Securities Depository Company Pvt. Ltd (MSD), 2018 to present. She has played a key role in driving technological innovations for the Exchange and Depository services, including strategic and business direction in the recent successful internal system developments of automated trading for the Maldives Stock Exchange. She also has contributed towards the harmonization of securities market regulations, including modernization of listing rules and regulations applicable to the market. Ms. Noorbaan has also served as Council Member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (2022-2023). She also serves as an independent Director on the Board of Dhivehi Insurance Company Pvt. Ltd (2022-2023). She has also served as an Executive Committee Member of the Bar Council of Maldives (BCM), (2020-2022). She served as a private sector Director on the Board of Maldives Pension Administration Office (2018-2021). She has also served as Legal Counsel for the Capital Market Development Authority of Maldives (CMDA) from (2014-2017). Ms. Noorbaan read her MSc in Public Policy and Management from SOAS, University of London (2017), and completed her LLB from the University of Bristol, UK (2011).
