Dr. Thota is a Past-President and Chairman of Product Development and Management Association (PDMA). He is co-author of “Key Concepts in Innovation,” a fundamental reference book for innovation professionals and students of innovation. Dr. Thota worked for Rich Products Corporation (US) R&D for 25 years and as a member of the executive team achieved company’s growth with profit. He made unique contribution to the practice of new food product development by applying product development and portfolio management best practices to commercialize his 10 US patents in retail and foodservice markets. During his 25-year career in consulting, Dr. Thota trained, coached, and mentored owners and executive teams to achieve sustained organizational growth with technology and business model innovation. He conducted workshops on New Product Development, and Front End of Innovation in China and India. He also conducted PDMA New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification preparation workshops in China and India. He was a visiting professor at the Management School of the Zhejiang University in China and taught a course on technology innovation management. He was appointed visiting Professor at the Geely Automotive Engineering Institute in Hangzhou. Geely is the largest privately held automotive manufacturer in China. Dr. Thota received Ph.D. in Food Science and Dairy Manufacturing from the University of Georgia. He is a PDMA certified New Product Development Professional.
