Semih has 20 years of experience in treasury services and trade solutions for corporate, public sector and financial institutions in Europe, Middle East and Africa. In this role, Semih leads business development in energy, power, renewables, metals & mining sectors in Central Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa (CEEMEA) region for J.P. Morgan Payments. Previously, Semih was structured & trade finance sales head at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. In his role he was responsible for marketing structured export finance and structured commodity finance solutions in the Middle East & Africa region. Previously, Semih was corporate trade finance and cash management sales director at Deutsche Bank in the Middle East. At the same time, Semih also worked as a short term consultant at the International Finance Corporation (IFC)’s Mongolia mission to support developing financial infrastructure. Prior to that Semih was at Standard Chartered Bank for Financial Institutions trade finance and cash management sales in the region. Semih was also the chairperson of the Middle East regional committee for the International Trade and Forfaiting Association (ITFA). Semih holds a Master of Science degree in Financial Management from Robert Gordon University in the UK and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Istanbul University in Turkiye. Semih is currently examining carbon emissions’ impact on banks’ performance and stability as part of his PhD in Finance and Banking from Kadir Has University in Turkiye.
