Her Excellency Ibtisam Al Farooji was appointed Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) by Royal Decree No 8/2023 in February 2023. As such, she is responsible for leading teams charged with driving significant levels of new investment into Oman at MoCIIP and the recently established Invest Oman Lounge. Prior to her current appointment, Her Excellency Al Farooji served as Director, Communications & Investor Services at the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE). In this role, she oversaw investor and public relations and led the Origin Oman campaign promoting Oman-made products and services domestically and internationally. A key achievement during this time was her instrumental role in the creation and management of PEIE’s customer service operations, including the establishment of a call centre to improve stakeholder engagement. HE Al Farooji holds an MSc in Marketing and Customer Care from Leicester University, UK, where she earned a distinction and a BSc in Management Information Systems from Sultan Qaboos University. She is fluent in both Arabic and English.
