Sameera Fernandes is the Chief Sustainability Officer and a Board Member at Century Financial, a leading financial services firm based in Dubai. In her role, she drives the company’s net-zero strategy and leads the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across operations. She is instrumental in forging partnerships with government bodies, private sector stakeholders, and international organizations to promote sustainable investment and impact-driven finance. With over two decades of leadership experience, Sameera has held senior roles at prominent companies including Sun Microsystems, Nokia, Jet Airways, Paris Gallery, and Al Ghurair Investments. Her core expertise lies in strategic brand development and implementing sustainability frameworks that align with global standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is a certified ESG and sustainability professional, having completed executive programs at the University of Oxford and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. Her work focuses on climate neutrality, waste management, and circular economy strategies, helping organizations transition towards more resilient and responsible business models. Beyond her corporate leadership, Sameera serves as Chairwoman of the Dubai Chambers’ Stockbrokers and Investment Services Business Group. She is also affiliated with the European Boardroom Advisors and the Institute of Directors, contributing to policy advocacy and thought leadership in sustainable finance. Sameera is also an accomplished author, having written two books—The Price of Truth and Educating the Next—and published over 50 research papers on topics spanning leadership, sustainability, and financial inclusion. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Global Leadership, further deepening her academic and professional impact. As a frequent speaker at global conferences, Sameera continues to shape the dialogue around ESG integration, sustainable finance, and responsible business leadership in the Middle East and beyond.
