Mr. Mamadou DIOP is the current Vice-Governor of the BCEAO (Central Bank of West African States) since April 29, 2021. A graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of Poitiers and the IMF Institute, Mr. DIOP has spent the majority of his career within the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), after a stint at the Banque Internationale pour l'Afrique de l'Ouest (BIAO) Niger as a Power of Attorney. He climbed all ranks, eventually reaching the position of National Director for Niger, a role he held for 14 years. Subsequently, he was called back to the BCEAO headquarters in Dakar as a Department Director, then Special Advisor to the Governor before being promoted to Secretary General of the Banking Commission of UMOA in Abidjan. In 2011, Mr. DIOP was appointed Vice-Governor of the BCEAO, a position he held on behalf of the State of Niger until 2018, before being appointed Minister of Finance of Niger until April 2021. Mr. DIOP has a rich and diverse experience in economic, monetary, and financial fields, as well as in banking sector supervision. He has proven expertise in public finance, macroeconomic convergence, financing, private sector development, and economic transformation.
