Ms. Bérangère Böell, United Nations Resident Coordinator for UAE, of France brings 23 years of experience in international development and humanitarian cooperation. She held management and leadership positions within the UN for 19 years, developing strong skills in strategic planning, coordination, policy dialogue, emergency preparedness, risk management, advocacy and resource mobilization in the Middle East and Africa. She is a strong advocate of the 2030 Agenda and LNOB. Prior to her assignment as the UN RC for UAE, Ms. Böell served at UNFPA as Representative in Mozambique. She formerly led UNFPA Country Offices in DPRK, Libya and Morocco, promoting interagency collaboration and cooperation in several areas. She also served as UNFPA Regional Advisor in East and Southern Africa, developing strategic and innovative partnerships and mobilizing substantial resources for 21 countries of the region. Ms. Böell previously worked for eight years at UNRWA where she held senior positions in external relations and programme coordination in Lebanon, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. She started her career in a Spanish NGO as head of office and programme manager for North Africa. Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and with fair knowledge of Arabic, Ms. Bérangère Böell holds a master’s degree in International Cooperation from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences from the University of Paris VIII and an under-graduate degree in Foreign Languages applied to Economics and Law from la Sorbonne University.
