Dr. Pietro Infante is the Head of Internationalization at Unioncamere (a public body representing the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture) and Senior manager of the Chamber of commerce system. He is responsible for defining the institution's internationalization strategy, working in collaboration with other stakeholders in the Italian internationalization system and all initiatives aimed at businesses support (missions, incoming institutional delegations and foreign businesses, business forums, B2B, specialist support services). Additionally, he also contributes to shaping and representing the institution's position also within the Steering Committee for internationalization, co-chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and within the Interministerial Committee for attracting foreign investments (CAIE) and other European and international offices and networks. He coordinates the centralized activities of the Internationalization Offices of the 60 Italian Chambers of Commerce and manages relations with the network of 86 Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad in 63 countries and the 39 Italian-Foreign Chambers or Foreign Chambers in Italy and with the Agency for internationalization “Promos Italia”. He is Board Member of the Joint Italian Arab Chamber of Commerce – JIACC. Since 2021, he is Invitalia Expert for the monitoring of public investments at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Economic Policy Planning and Coordination. Since 2013, he is President of InBit– Events & Education, a civic organization active in the field of scientific research, institutional and international relations. Previously, he worked for over 15 years in leading public administrations including Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Economic Development, Competition and Market Authority, Unioncamere and Vatican Institutions. He is an expert in internationalization and has participated in missions across different countries, industrial policy and business development, sustainability, digitalization and innovation. Regarding academic and research activity, he is an Adjunct Professor at Luiss Business School and has been a lecturer in Business Internationalization at Universitas Mercatorum and at the Departments of Political Science and Law of Luiss Guido Carli where he has also served from 2011 as teaching assistant for different courses. He also teaches in several Master’s program. He holds a PhD in "Law and Business" at Luiss Guido Carli. He has conducted research activities abroad as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre of European Law of King's College, Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies - University of London and he earned an Executive Course on Regulation at the London School of Economics - LSE. He has coordinated research projects and directed courses and seminar series. He is the author of several publications and has attended specialization courses at italian, international and pontifical universities. He is Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
