Pink Mango
Maryse Mbonyumutwa is a Rwandan-Belgian entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the global fashion and garment industry, spanning Europe, China, Southeast Asia, and Africa. She is the founder and CEO of Pink Mango, an export-oriented garment manufacturer based in Kigali, employing over 1,300 workers, 70% of whom are women. Recognizing Africa's potential as a global fashion hub, she established Pink Mango in 2017 to drive sustainable industrialization and meaningful development on the continent. Maryse also founded Asantii, a contemporary Pan-African clothing brand that celebrates the continent’s heritage, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Launched in 2022, Asantii collaborates with African designers and is available online and in select concept stores across Africa, Europe, and the US. In her commitment to sustainability and social impact, she launched Pink Ubuntu, a CSR initiative dedicated to improving the living conditions of textile and garment workers, especially women, while contributing to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Maryse has been recognized globally for her contributions to fashion and entrepreneurship, including being named a Vogue Business 100 Innovator and a BOF500 member, the definitive index of individuals shaping the global fashion industry. She has received several awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year at the Forum des Métiers du Luxe (2023), Female Leadership of the Year by Forbes Afrique (2023), the GUBA Award for Manufacturing and Sustainability (2022), and SME Champion of the Year by the Africa SME Champions Forum (2022).
