Renuka M Weerakone Director General Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Renuka M Weerakone is an accomplished legal and investment professional with over 30 years of experience at the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka. A qualified Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public, she holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in shaping investment policies, project evaluation, and strategic planning within the BOI, contributing significantly to Sri Lanka’s economic growth and investor confidence. Currently serving as Director General, she has held multiple leadership positions within the organization. Her expertise spans across key areas such as foreign direct investment facilitation, policy advisory, and regulatory framework development. She has been instrumental in attracting global investors to Sri Lanka, promoting it as a competitive investment destination, and ensuring seamless project implementation. Her leadership has strengthened investor relations and enhanced the ease of doing business within the country. With a strong legal background and extensive experience in investment facilitation, she possesses a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
