Mrs. Thuy Le is Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup, the largest private conglomerate in Vietnam. She is also the Executive Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of VinFast Auto Ltd, a global electric vehicle company headquartered in Singapore and listed on Nasdaq with operations emerging from Vietnam and quickly expanding globally in the US, Canada, the EU, and major Asian markets like Indonesia and India. She was Global CEO of VinFast from Jan 2022 to Jan 2024 before being promoted to the strategic role of Chairwoman. She is responsible for fund raising and international and strategic relations for Vingroup and VinFast. Mrs. Thuy is at the forefront in establishing VinFast and leading it to become a recognized global manufacturer of electric vehicles. She’s behind the success of VinFast in Vietnam market, with the construction of VinFast manufacturing complex in Hai Phong and the launch of its first passenger cars and e-scooters within 21 months. Mrs. Thuy was supportive of VinFast’s bold step in switching to exclusively developing electric vehicles in 2022. She is spearheading VinFast global strategy, with the establishment of headquarters in three European markets and North America, and the construction of a new manufacturing complex in North Carolina, US, which broke ground in July 2023. Under her leadership, VinFast has exported its first electric vehicles to North America in December 2022, and is on-going process to bring its products to European, ASEAN and Indian markets in 2024. In August 2023, VinFast successfully listed on NASDAQ, at some point hitting market capitalization of USD 250 billion. Mrs. Thuy is amongst Vingroup’s veteran leaders. She first joined in 2008 as CFO of Vingroup. She became Vice Chairwoman of the Group in 2011, CEO in 2012 and concurrently assumed these positions until 2014. Together with the teams at Vingroup and VinFast, over the years she has helped raise over ten billion US$ in financing for the Group. Prior to joining Vingroup, Mrs. Thuy spent nearly 10 years at Lehman Brothers and worked in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore, covering markets ranging from North Asia to South Asia. Mrs. Thuy was the only representative from Vietnam in the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Class of 2013 of the World Economic Forum (WEF). She is a member of Young President Organization (YPO). She holds a MBA from the International University of Japan and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Vietnam Foreign Trade University.
