Wael Elamin is a consultant clinical microbiologist and infection control doctor with extensive experience in the UK and UAE. He has a strong academic background, with degrees from Sudan, UK and Germany, and fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Pathologists and Physicians. He has led several projects and initiatives in antimicrobial stewardship, pathology services, and outbreak investigations, and has received national and international awards for his work. He has published widely on topics such as Helicobacter pylori, multidrug resistant organisms, and antimicrobial resistance in conflict settings. He remains affiliated as an adjunct Professor at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi and a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University, London. He is currently the medical director and subject matter expert in microbiology and infectious diseases at G42 health care, leading in cutting edge innovative technology projects, leveraging data and AI.
