Dr. Oumar Rafiou Barry, PhD., P.Eng., is the Co-Founder and CEO of Cauridor, a US-based fintech company founded in 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Applied Science and Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. Dr. Barry received numerous awards during this period, including the Ontario Graduate Scholarship and the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Award. His qualifications led him to a role as a Design Engineer at Hydro One Networks in Ontario, Canada, and subsequently an academic career as a Faculty Member at both Central Michigan University and Virginia Tech University, where he still lectures today. As a faculty member, he received numerous awards, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award. He co-founded Cauridor with Abdoulaye Bah, driven by a vision to create a digitally inclusive financial ecosystem for Africa. Cauridor provides a digital payments network connecting international money transfer and payments companies to customers across Africa. Under his leadership, Cauridor has expanded into a thriving enterprise, generating $15.5 million in revenue in 2024 and employing over 200 people across 17 countries. Dr. Barry also serves on the Boards of Ulendo and ChargeAutomation.
