Richard Budden: Deputy General Manager – Middle East, Africa & Central Asia, Esri As Deputy General Manager, Richard Budden leads Esri's business in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, supporting customers, distributors and partners across the region. Richard helps organisations to understand the value that location intelligence and the geographic approach can bring to their business, and provides subject matter expertise and thought leadership on topics including smart cities, infrastructure and sustainability. Richard is based at Esri’s regional office in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Prior to his current role, Richard managed Esri’s European region from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and previously led the government and smart cities sector for Esri across the Middle East and Africa. Richard graduated from the University of Reading in the UK in 2001 with a BSc in Human and Physical Geography. Prior to joining Esri in 2014, he provided GIS services, consultancy and advice to organisations across the UK and Middle East with UK AEC firm Atkins.
