The Honourable Dato Sri Tiong King Sing holds a long established presence as an elected public servant with roots in entrepreneurship in his youth. His distinguished career spans various leadership roles within political parties and governmental bodies and he is a recipient of multiple Royal accolades from the states of Selangor, Pahang, and Kelantan, and his native Sarawak as early as 1994. Since his first win in the 1999 general election, he has served the Bintulu parliamentary constituency with unwavering commitment to helping grassroot movements improve the people’s wellbeing and the livelihoods of small to medium sized businesses. He continues to serve the people of Bintulu and contribute to the development of Sarawak and Malaysia as a whole. Originally from the town of Sibu in Sarawak state, the Honourable Tiong presently serves as the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture under the Malaysian government. His public service spans many decades including stints as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China and to the Far East from 2020 to 2022 and from 2014 to 2018 respectively. In Bintulu, he serves as the Director of the Bintulu Development Authority from 2019, and was a Bintulu Port Authority Director between 2004 and 2008. For the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), he was appointed its Deputy Treasurer General, serving from 2004 to 2008. Tiong continues to serve with dedication in public service and leadership roles within political and non-governmental organizations, highlighting a strong commitment to the bettering of his community and nation.
