Sam has over 25 years of experience in International Business, living and working in 12 countries on five continents in diverse industries and using five languages. His expertise spans multiple facets of international trade, investment, and strategy, including: • Global Strategy & FDIs: Led international expansion and outward FDIs/JVs for Philips (Netherlands), Michelin (France), Olivetti and Parmalat (Italy), Doosan (Korea). • Export Marketing & SME Growth: Advised 3,000+ SMEs, helping them transition from transactional exporters to strategic global investors. • FDI Attraction & Facilitation: Held senior roles with Invest France, Invest Australia, and various regional and local development agencies. • International Development: Led EU Commission projects, including a 30-month capacity-building initiative in Romania. • Consulting & Training: Founded and managed a 14-country consulting network for nine years; developed and delivered a business consultancy training program. • Academia: Taught International Marketing at the University of NSW & Australian Catholic University; designed a widely recognized Executive Diploma in International Business. • Research: Conducted International Entrepreneurship research at Macquarie University (Sydney), focusing on International Business opportunity identification, differently in established and emerging markets, which was published in indexed academic journals. • Digital Transformation: Contributed to Austrade’s Go Global Toolkit as a Subject Matter Expert for Food & Ag and led its partner engagement strategy. • Entrepreneurship: Co-founded, expanded, and sold an Italian environmental tech startup within three years; advised and held equity in several ventures. Currently, Sam is employed as Global Engagement Manager at the Australian Trade & Investment Commission - Austrade (Australian Government), advising and supporting the rapid global growth of Australian businesses.
