UN Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is a voluntary initiative launched in 2000 to encourage businesses and organizations worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies. As the largest corporate sustainability initiative globally, the UNGC brings together companies, governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. These principles are derived from key international agreements, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.
