The UAE-UK Business Council is a thought leadership forum that brings together senior business representatives, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders from both countries to identify and help to resolve barriers to trade and investment between the UAE and the UK.
Through our Working Groups, campaigns and events, we seek to identify emerging trends and opportunities for closer commercial collaboration between the two countries.
We work in partnership with both the UAE and UK Governments, and through our Co-Chairs Lord Udny-Lister and HE Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh we provide strategic advice to both Governments on the interests and concerns of our member companies and the wider business community.
Our Working Groups cover a range of sectors and are chaired by eminent business leaders and academics.
We are funded entirely by our members and are supported by a Joint Secretariat that represents the interests of both UAE and UK member companies.
The Business Council celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2021 by extending membership to SMEs and academic institutions, launching a new website and by delivering events in both markets to promote bilateral cooperation. In terms of what the Business Council wants to achieve going forward, the majority of our work will be closely aligned with delivering on the ambitions set out in The Partnership for The Future and the Mubadala / Office for Investment Sovereign Investment Partnership.
