Founded in 1983 with approval from the China State Council, Guangdong University of Finance & Economics (GDUFE) has a rich history of development and transformation. Initially known as Guangdong College of Finance and Economics, the institution offered bachelor’s degrees and was renamed Guangdong Business College in 1985. In 2003, it gained the authority to confer master’s degrees and, in 2008, earned an Excellent rating in the undergraduate education evaluation by China’s Ministry of Education. The university adopted its current name in 2013 and, in 2021, was granted the ability to confer doctor’s degrees.
