European DIGITAL SME Alliance

The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is the largest network of ICT small and medium enterprises in Europe, representing a total of more than 45,000 enterprises. It is the joint effort of 30 national and regional SME associations from EU member states and neighbouring countries to place digital SMEs at the heart of the EU agenda.

DIGITAL SME advocates for a more inclusive level playing field in the digital sector for all businesses, opposing the enhanced domination of few key market players in the EU Single Market. Encouraging solutions such as the combination of open innovation eco-systems with strategic investments or pledging for a wholesome improvement of Europe’s digital infrastructure are just a few examples of DIGITAL SME’s commitments with its members and partners.

To name others, DIGITAL SME:

  • Fosters mutual communication, know-how and best practices in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector among its members;
  • Performs actions at the European level linked to topics of general interest for digital small and medium enterprises in Europe through training programmes, conferences and seminars and running key-sectoral research;
  • Provides access on helpful and exclusive funding opportunities of Horizon EU funded projects revolving around the digital sector;
  • Values members’ access to updates on new digital frontiers through ad-hoc working groups, covering multiple cross-sectoral issues (standardisation, cybersecurity, blockchain, sustainability, smart communities etc…) and community policies;
  • Represents the interests and stances of Associations’ members and SMEs on specific problems vis-à-vis EU institutions;
  • Implements actions in third countries, notably in issues related to the support and training of local digital small and medium enterprises.
