China Photovoltaic Industry Association

China Photovoltaic Industry Association(CPIA), was founded on 27 June 2014 in Beijing as an A-level national association with the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs. With its members formed on a voluntary basis that include businesses, government institutions, social organizations and individuals in the R&D, manufacturing, education and services of photovoltaic products, equipment, supplies and applications, the CPIA is a national, industrial and non-profit social organization.   Mission of the CPIA: Observe the Constitution, laws, regulations, national policies and social ethics; Protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members and the photovoltaic industry as a whole, advocate self-discipline and uphold fair competition; Improve industrial standards and foster a favorable environment for development; Facilitate technological exchange and cooperation, and improve indigenous innovation capability; Serve as a bridge between the government and the business, and provide services to businesses, industries and government; Promote international exchange and cooperation, active participation by the industry in international competition, and coordinated response to trade disputes.

The CPIA has exceeded 780 members (as of November 2023), including businesses, government and research institutions, standard and testing organizations, universities and local PV associations engaged in polysilicon, silicon wafer, cell, module, special-purpose equipment, components, system integration and PV power generation. The association's members cover 95% of the country's polysilicon, 98% of silicon wafers, 94% of cells, 97% of modules, 95% of inverters, and 80% of photovoltaic equipment, 96% of the encapsulant material, 90% of back sheet and other raw and auxiliary materials and components of the manufacturing capacity. Its members cover more than 60% of the national PV power plant development, investment, design, construction, operation and maintenance services. Its widely-representative members form the backbone of the Chinese PV industry.
