Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GHORFA)

The Arabic word "ghorfa" means chamber. The Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry e. V. is the representation of all Arab chambers of industry and commerce in the Federal Republic of Germany. For more than 40 years, GHORFA has been successfully promoting economic relations between Germany and the Arab countries and is the first point of contact for many companies for Arab-German economic issues. Founded on the initiative of Arab decision-makers and interested German business circles, Ghorfa was registered as a non-profit association at the district court in Bonn on December 8, 1976. Ghorfa has been based in Berlin since August 1, 2000.

Due to its history and commitment, Ghorfa has a top-class corporate and institutional network in the Arab countries and in Germany. As an integral part of the global network of Arab Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Ghorfa operates under the auspices of the General Union of Chambers of Industry, Commerce and Agriculture of the Arab Countries, the umbrella organization of all Arab Chambers of Commerce and Industry. In addition, it works hand in hand with the Arab League, the Arab ministries and embassies as well as industry and business associations. In Germany, Ghorfa cooperates with government institutions at federal and state level and relevant German industry associations.
