Your Guide to AIM 2022 Pre-conference Workshops
Since its inception more than a decade ago, the Annual Investment Meeting AIM has been playing its vital role as a global platform that creates a regional and global economic transformation by providing investment opportunities, upholding solidarity, and developing strong economic relations among countries, investors, startups, small & medium enterprises SMEs, and all other stakeholders in the global investment arena.
Not only in terms of concept but also at the level of intensive activities on the ground, AIM 2022 comprises a wide variety of activities and features that work together to achieve the event’s objectives. On March 26, 27, and 28, AIM’s Pre-conference Workshops include the following sessions:
Workshop: World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies Workshop (WAIPA) & 2nd Arab Rally for Entrepreneurship & Innovation Finals
Title: Attracting Quality Investment – Training course
Date: 27th of March 2022 - 10:00 to 17:00
Synopsis: The “Attracting Quality Investment” course is part of the FDI Excellence training that WAIPA and FDI Center have been providing since 2018. Participants in the course will gain essential knowledge and skills for identifying and attracting high-value investment projects and maximizing the benefits of FDI for their economies.

Synopsis: The workshop aims to explore how investment promotion is evolving and what the future of investment promotion will look like.
Workshop: Startup Workshop 1
Title: - Customer Discovery: What's the Problem and What Needs to be Validated?
Date: 28th March 2022 - 10:00 to 13:00
Synopsis: The purpose of this workshop is for participants to learn to apply Lean Startup Methodology in the development of their business model. By the end of the workshop, participants will have selected a problem and developed a business model canvas around the possible solution to the problem.
Workshop: Future Cities Workshop 1
Title: - What are Future Cities? How can FDI be leveraged to deliver Future Cities' solutions?

Synopsis: The workshop will cover the following points: Enabling policies and programs to create competitive city-regions; Examples of best practices in placing city-regions on the international world map for global trade and investment; The seven economic programs that all city regions need to deliver: from infrastructure to innovation; The entire city region development plan needs to be wrapped in a strategic international reputation development and management strategy.
