A UAE delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi attended the BRICS Business Forum held in Rio de Janeiro on the margins of the 2025 BRICS Summit. The forum gathered senior officials and business leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and invited partners to discuss trade facilitation, investment flows and supply‑chain resilience.
During the plenary session, Dr Al Zeyoudi delivered a briefing on the UAE’s trade diversification strategy and highlighted priority sectors for collaboration, including renewable energy, advanced logistics, agri‑food technology and digital services. He outlined existing frameworks such as the UAE’s NextGen FDI platform and multiple CEPAs signed since 2022.
The UAE delegation held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Brazil, India and South Africa to explore investment opportunities and regulatory cooperation. Memoranda of Understanding covering joint logistics studies and SME support programmes were initialled on the sidelines of the event.
