Yassin Al Suroor is the founder and the Executive Chairman of A’amal group, founded in 1994 with diversified interest in investment, real estate and oil & gas industry with operation across Middle East, South Asia and Africa. He is also the Chairman of IRIS Capital Middle East. IRIS Capital is a venture capital firm, specialized in the digital economy primarily active in Europe and Middle East. Since its creation, the Iris Capital has invested more than a billion Euros in over 230 innovative companies. Yassin Al Suroor is board member in various regional and international companies. In his personal capacity, he is an active investor in stock market and innovation startup companies. Yassin Al Suroor played a significant role in promoting international PPP Investment by advising various government agencies. He is also an active participant in B20 / G20 taskforce to promote the role of SMEs in Global Economy. His leadership and entrepreneurial skills were key factors for his achievement of acclaims he received from the international business fraternity, Governmental and Non-Governmental organizations. As such, in 2014 Yassin Al Suroor was elected as Chairman of Saudi International Chamber of Commerce. In 2016 he was elected as Executive board member of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris. Later in June 2018, he was elected as Vice Chair of the World business organization (ICC) as the first representative from the Arab region since its establishment in 1919. In November 2018 he has been appointed as member of the Executive Committee and G20 representative of the World Chamber Federation. Yassin Alsuroor received several awards and recognitions for his meritorious services to business, including an award from the former Prime Minister of Malaysia H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Badawi, an award as one of the top 100 CEO’s in Arab region and an award as best CEO in investment for 2018, in addition to other national and international awards. He is an ardent orator who is recognized internationally, mainly in the subject of public private partnership. He was the main speaker in the United Nations World Leader Investment Summit in Nairobi, One Belt One Road investment forum in China, World Business Angels Investment summit in Istanbul, G20 Think Tank Summit in China, World Chamber Congress in Sydney and many other internationally acclaimed conferences. He believes that the business must be beneficial to the peace and tranquility of humanity. He also believes in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) therefore he is co founder and executive board member of The National Role Model Society. He also associates with Andrea Bocelli foundation with a mission to empower the lives of children.

Global foreign direct investment (FDI) flows slid by 13% in 2018, to US$1.3 trillion from $1.5 trillion the previous year – the third consecutive annual decline, according to UNCTAD’s World Investment Report 2019.
We are witnessing a global slowdown of the economy, with many countries being more conservative and restricting the inflow or the outflow of FDI. The Geopolitics is hampering the growth of FDI. Globalisation is running out of stem, and a new term is being coined called “Slowbalisation”.
The Global Leaders Debate will discuss the future investment trend and how is it impacting FDI, SMEs, Startups and Future Cities.
The high-level panel will convene heads of state, academia, heads of international institutions, leaders from multinational organisations, leading unicorns and investors from developing and mature economies.
