Syed Husain Quadri

Syed Husain Quadri is currently heading the Country Strategy and Market Integration Division of the IsDB responsible for preparing the frameworks, policies, strategies and programs for the development and implementation the Country Strategies of the 57-Member Countries of the Bank. In addition, his unit is also in charge of the provision of advisory services, grant financing and technical guidance in matters related to Regional Cooperation and Market Integration, primarily on issues around governing trade promotion, local and foreign direct investment, and infrastructure development. Thusly, he works closely with all the major Bi-lateral and Multi-lateral Development Banks, Governments and institutions such as the OECD, WTO, OIC, etc. Mr. Quadri has also provided consulting, training and advisory services to the Governments of Kuwait,Malaysia, Niger, Uganda, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Turkey among others.

Previously, Quadri was chiefly responsible for leading, planning and conducting more than 50 evaluations in over 25 countries all over Asia, Africa, and Europe in the Private Sector, Economic Infrastructure, and Human Development Sectors. Prior to joining the IsDB, Quadri worked as a Clinical Research Analyst at the Wellcome Trust, UK and as a Finance Literacy Project Coordinator at a British NGO, SIFE. Quadri holds a Masters in International Management from the Imperial College London and Bachelors from King’s College London. He is a certified Islamic Banker (CIBAFI) and Development Evaluation Practitioner (MIT, Duke, and Carleton). Currently, he is pursuing his certificate in economic development at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
