Dietmar Siersdorfer is Middle East, UAE CEO and a Member of the Siemens Energy Group Management Committee.
On May 1, 2020, he became Middle East and UAE CEO at Siemens Energy and is a Member of the Group Management Committee. Siemens Energy is a pureplay energy company, bringing together all of Siemens’ energy capabilities, to build a strong value proposition focused on supporting countries through their energy transition and decarbonization journey.
Siersdorfer joined Siemens in 1987 in Mannheim, Germany, as an electrical engineer and has held various managerial positions in the Industry and Energy sectors during his tenure at the company.
For two years, starting 1997, he was located at the Siemens Southeast Asia headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, promoting the Industry Sector’s Digitalization business in the region. In 2001, Siersdorfer took over global responsibility for Manufacturing Execution Systems within Siemens AG in Erlangen, Germany. In 2004, he was appointed Executive Senior Vice President for fossil power generation for Europe, Africa, Middle East, and India. Two years later, he became President and CEO of the global fossil energy solutions business within the Siemens Power Generation division.
In 2008, he came to the Middle East region as the CEO of the energy business, promoting all of Siemens oil and gas, renewables and power generation activities in the region. In 2013, he became the UAE and Middle East CEO of Siemens, leading all the group’s activities across the region.
Siersdorfer is an active board member of several Siemens subsidiaries, including Siemens LLC Oman; and Siemens WLL Qatar; and as the Chairman of Siemens Electrical and Electronic Services, K.S.C.C, Kuwait; and the Chairman of Siemens Egypt SA.
In his free time, Siersdorfer enjoys golfing, jogging, music and cooking.
