AIM Conducts Roadshow to Africa

In a recently held roadshow to Africa, AIM Dir. Gen. Walid Farghal had a productive series of meetings with institution heads of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville, Ivory Coast and Ethiopia.

In a meeting with DRC’s Minister of Planning H.E. Bahati Lukwebo Modeste, the strong relationship of DRC with UAE and the Gulf was discussed. Dir. Gen. Farghal also met with DRC’s Minister of Foreign Trade H.E. Jean-Lucien Bussa Tongba who confirmed his participation in AIM 2018 where he will lead a delegation of businessmen and investors from DRC.

In another meeting with DRC’s Minister of Porfolio H.E. Wivine Mumba Matipa, discussion focused on the importance of DRC's presence in AIM to connect with private sectors. Possible cooperation between UAE and DRC was further explored during AIM’s discussion with Ambroise Tshiyoyo, Fédération des entreprises du Congo’s President of Foreign Relations Commission and Rose-Doree Bokeleale, Deputy Managing Director of ANAPI, DRC’s national agency for investment promotion.

In Ethiopia, Dir. Gen. Farghal met with African Union Commission’s Chief of Staff & Chief Advisor of the Bureau of the Chairperson Department Mr. El Ghassim Wane and Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations Representative to the African Union, UNECA, and Sub Regional Coordinator for Eastern Africa Dr. Patrick M. Kormawa to talk about opportunities in AIM 2018.

While in Ivory Coast, Dir. Gen. Farghal had the opportunity to discuss possible partnership with African Development Bank’s Director Mukhtar Abdu, Chief Coordinator Industrial Programs Thomas Viot and Vice President for Private Sector, Infrastructure & Industrialization Pierre Guislain.
